We are not against legitimate drug enforcement.
We are against treating medical judgment like criminal conduct. Policies written to stop traffickers should not destroy responsible doctors, independent practices, and the patients who depend on them.

What must change
Enforcement can be strong without being indiscriminate.
Medical review before prosecution
Before any criminal charge arising from patient care is filed, qualified, independent medical experts should review the complete record. If a prosecutor seeks an indictment, those findings—including evidence favorable to the physician—should be presented fairly to the grand jury. Charging decisions must be driven by medical facts, not publicity.
Proportionate consequences
The response should match the actual conduct, risk, intent, and medical context—not simply the harshest charge a statute permits.
Continuity for innocent patients
Government action should include a real plan to protect patients whose care is not connected to the allegations.
Policy shaped by medical reality
Working physicians and affected patients must have a meaningful role when laws governing complex care are written and revised.
